penrith lakes
Penrith Lakes, a unique blend of lakes, parkland, wildlife habitat, history and culture, all located at the Western gateway to Sydney, Australia’s premier city.

With a history as a major quarry stretching back to the days of colonial settlement, the Penrith Lakes Scheme is among the world’s most innovative and large scale quarry remediation projects. The quarry supplied sand and gravel from which much of metropolitan Sydney was built over many decades. Quarrying finally concluded on the site in 2015. The next phase of the Scheme is set to begin.

The huge site – almost 2,000 hectares – has been completely remade into a vast system of river-front, lakes, parkland and wildlife havens. Penrith Lakes is set to become a major attraction for the people of Western Sydney plus tourists and visitors from far beyond.

Cityscape is assisting PLDC realise development outcomes for the site in accordance with long term metropolitan and local strategic and statutory planning for the site. The planning process involves resolution of a complex array of unique environmental and urban planning challenges.
